2011 Golf Classic
We are pleased to announce that the 13th Annual Charity Golf Classic, hosted by Eric Karros & Friends, and held on March 4, 2011 was a great success! 138 golfers enjoyed a day of beautiful weather, camaraderie, games, contests and golf, all to benefit St. Francis Medical Center’s charitable care and community outreach programs.
New to our event this year was the participation of “Pin-Up Golf,” an organization that helps charities raise money and provide a fun and memorable day for the golfers. With Pin-up Golf’s help, we raised over $9,000 in opportunity drawing sales and the lucky winner went home with a 50” HD Television and a Sony Blue-Ray Player and Home Theatre System.
Other festivities of the day included special appearances by the Los Angeles Laker Girls as well as our Celebrity Golfers

The highlight of the event was our Fund-A-Dream presentation during the dinner reception. Proceeds from “Fund-A-Dream” were earmarked for the Naseau Reading Program, which is a remedial reading program for elementary school students whose reading, spelling and comprehension skills are two or more levels below their current grade level.

Sr. Thelma Brennan, who oversees the program, joined us at the event along with 3 Naseau students who read letters of appreciation to St. Francis and the program leadership. The children were a joy to see and their words of hope touched everyone in the room, resulting in countless paddles raised to support the Naseau Reading Program. In the end, the Fund-A-Dream initiative raised more than $13,000!
Net proceeds from the event totaled $149,957, almost $30,000 more than our 2010 golf tournament. We want to thank all our donors and supporters who helped make this event a great success!
