The Prom Dress Project is St. Francis Medical Center Foundation’s most recent expression of love, hope and beauty brought to life! This new initiative will encourage and empower teenage girls in Southeast Los Angeles by providing them with free dresses, shoes and accessories for their upcoming proms and graduations.
To feel beautiful is every young girl’s wish. The Prom Dress Project will show underprivileged girls that beauty can flourish even in the toughest of times. Our message of hope, despite the hardships, will resonate with each girl that comes in for a custom dress and shoe fitting for her special, milestone evening!
About the Dress Drive/Collection: We will accept dress donations beginning November 15th and ending on March 12th, 2012. See below for donation guidelines.
About the Prom Dress Distribution Event- April 6th and 7th at SFMC: An amazing group of women volunteers will shower young girls from Lynwood, South Gate and Compton with wisdom, encouragement and dresses in a respectful, fun environment! We will spend time with each girl individually to help them find an appropriate dress, shoes and accessories. Our goal is to dress up to 200 girls this first year.
